Life on the Ice Vocabulary

One of our reading activities this week was to research some words about Antarctica and then use them in our own sentences.  I decided to turn one of my words into a blog post so here it is.

One of my old teachers loves a good pun so Whaea Katie, this post is for you!

  1. Kia ora Nikau,

It looks like you have been busy completing your learning from home. I loved this pun about the word crevasse...it seemed quite deep!
It must be interesting learning about Antarctica, is it true that it is one of the driest places even though it is mostly covered in ice?
Keep up the good work Nikau!

    1. Hi Whaea Katie,

I enjoyed learning about Antarctica. Yes it is true that Antartica is one of the driest places on earth. This is because the snow and ice has been there for many many years. The weather is normally very very cold with clear skies. One place in Antarctica called The Dry Valley's hasnt seen rain for 2 million years!

  2. Kia ora Nikau, How clever to combine new learning with humour! I admit it took me a wee while to get the joke! Your format is eye-catching with effective layout and use of images and an easy to read font.
